August 22, 2006– Houston –Insulated Panel Systems (IPS), a division of NCI Building Systems, L.P., today announced the introduction of NaturalStone™, an exterior wall coating that adds a stone-like surface to metal panel systems.
The new product line is comprised of naturally colored quartz aggregates and synthetics to create a granulated texture resembling crushed stone. It is designed to work seamlessly with four types of insulated wall panel systems manufactured by IPS.

NaturalStone™ is available in 10 distinctive color options, ranging from an earth-toned Sahara Sand to a vibrant Adobe Red. IPS executives intend to market the product line to architects and builders seeking to elevate the aesthetics of various building projects. They believe the exterior coatings are ideally suited for such high-visibility buildings as commercial, religious and municipal structures—facilities that can benefit from the combined strength of insulated steel and the attractiveness of textured stone.

Richard Gamble, Manager of Research and Development at IPS, explains that the manufacturing processes behind NaturalStone™ contribute to the integrity of the product line.

“NaturalStone surfaces are applied to our insulated panels in a controlled environment” said Mr. Gamble. “Extensive freeze - thaw cycle testing has been performed to ensure excellent metal surface adhesion. As a result, NaturalStone panels are delivered to the jobsite ready to be installed in any climate, effectively eliminating the control that weather and temperature conditions have over field applied coatings.”
In addition to the combined advantages of insulated steel panels and attractive exteriors, IPS representatives state that customers can experience the added benefits of simple installation, R-values of up to 40.0 for superior thermal efficiency and a limited 10-year warranty. The company believes that insulated panels using NaturalStone™ coatings may serve as a viable exterior solution for buildings in areas that prohibit the use of single-skin metal panels. Likewise, NaturalStone™ is an ideal solution for achieving matching trims easily and the insulated panels can eliminate the need for additional interior work by serving as the inside finish.
Kevin Conlin, General Manager of IPS, is confident that NaturalStone™ will become an instant success among consumers.

“Our customers now have access to a truly unique design option—one that is more attractive than stucco, but more affordable than real stone,” said Mr. Conlin. “This is a building solution that offers exceptional aesthetic possibilities, without compromising the strength and performance of steel. With NaturalStone, our customers really do get the best of both worlds.”
