Bear Construction

Bear Construction was founded in 1978 by Ken Beil, Sr. with two employees. Over the years Bear Construction has evolved from a small general contractor with what Ken described as “an honest work ethic” to become one of the most respected firms in the region.

Today Bear Construction is owned and operated by Kris Beil, Ken Beil Jr. and their partner Robert Boswell. Bear Construction prides itself on its hands-on approach to every project, regardless of size or complexity. With the capability to provide whatever services are required, general construction, design/build, construction management or property development, Bear is able meet the demands of its growing customer base.

In September 1989 Bear Construction became a Ceco Builder and over the years has been an outstanding performer. At the recent National Sales Meeting in San Diego, Calif., Bear was recognized for having purchased more than $5,000,000 in Ceco buildings and was honored as the Builder of the Year in 2005 for the Eastern Region.

Together with Ceco Buiding System, Bear has executed a number of large complex projects. The Parking Company of America project involved 450,000 square feet of Ceco widebay buildings covering a most irregular shaped lot with numerous grade changes. Recently completed is the Westinghouse Electric R5 facility. The 28,000 square foot building consists of 12,000 square feet of office and 16,000 square feet of high bay work area. The high bay is a 102-foot clear span with a 66 foot eave height and a 20 ton overhead crane at 50 feet from finished floor. This fast track project was completed in January of 2006 in only 6 months.

Currently Bear Construction is working with the Perryman Company on their new titanium melting mill. The $30 million project involves eight Ceco buildings with 95,000 square feet under roof including 28,000 square of high bay space. The high bay building is an 80 foot clear span with 55 foot eave height and a 15 ton overhead crane. The project is also a fast track project with owner occupancy scheduled for October 2006.

It will be interesting and exciting to be involved with the next project Ceco and Bear tackle!
