Adams Building Contractors
Dave and Gary Adams have been in the construction business following in the footsteps of their father, Dave Adams, Sr. who established Adams Poured Wall with uncle Robert Adams in 1970.
The brothers purchased Adams Building Contractors (ABC) from their uncle when their father retired. Dave is the president and Gary is vice president. Dave handles estimating and purchasing and Gary supervises field personnel operations and contracts.
“Things used to be more hands-on, now it’s much more computer-oriented,” says Dave. “Computer-Aided Design (CAD) has made our job more flexible. We can create models and then make changes and corrections more easily. I think it’s helped the industry as a whole.”
Dave and Gary interact with their staff. “We are still hands-on with our employees giving guidance and direction ourselves as much as possible instead of leaving it to someone else,” says Dave. “We think it makes for a better working relationship.”
ABC’s projects include diverse projects including a dental facility; storage facilities; a uniquely designed engineering building; an eight screen stadium style movie theater; a fire station; ethanol plants – even a giant yellow International Dog House.
A Ceco Builder since 1955, Adam’s Building Contractors’ services include general construction, design, metal building construction; construction management; renovations, and maintenance and repair services.
